JOB DESCRIPTION
Meadowlark Aircraft’s (www.meadowlarkaircraft.com) Systems Engineering Group is seeking a motivated and skilled aeronautical engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will contribute to the design, simulation, and optimization of custom uncrewed aircraft systems. Your work will span airframe design, aerodynamic modeling, structural analysis, and performance testing—supporting both new product development and continuous improvements to existing platforms. Candidates with strong foundations in both theoretical aerodynamics and applied engineering methods will thrive in this hands-on role, contributing directly to the development of next-generation VTOL aircraft for commercial and government clients.

Located in Grand Forks, ND—the epicenter of the drone industry—Meadowlark designs, manufactures, and markets customizable (bespoke) unmanned aerial systems. We focus on long-endurance, mid-size vertical take-off-and-landing (VTOL) solutions and offer a comprehensive array of products and services that span the entire aircraft production and maintenance lifecycle. We value professional integrity, teamwork, execution, growth, persistence, and agility in our staff.

Meadowlark offers a competitive salary, stock options, 401(k) match, health insurance reimbursement, most Federal holidays, and flexible “as-needed” paid time off.

The ideal candidate:

-
Has (or anticipates receiving by Spring 2025) a bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics
-
Is familiar with airframe design principles and aerospace engineering best practices
-
Has experience with—or a demonstrated aptitude to master—computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools
-
Has experience with—or a demonstrated aptitude to master—airfoil stress simulations and structural analysis
-
Possesses excellent technical comprehension and communication skills
-
Can collaborate with Meadowlark’s design, systems, and manufacturing teams to refine and test performance models
-
Thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial work environment

The candidate must be a U.S. citizen and must successfully pass a background check and drug testing for prohibited substances as defined by Federal regulations. Candidates must be willing to relocate to Grand Forks, North Dakota. Your resume or cover letter should clearly reflect these requirements to be considered.
